Midi
Footcontollers? Now theres a wild beast to tame.
Even the name suggests a Websters Dictionary thick
manual to not only read, but memorize ! Wasnt Midi supposed to create a common thread to make communication and organization between devices easier? A means to control Effects processors, program changes and numerous other related midi devices? Thats why we sat at the design table with a red pen and went scratch, scratch, and scratch again. We hate to say this word again, "Simplicity". Thats not only whats needed, its required. Who has the time to read excessive documentation, nor the time on stage foot dance on a controller board! The Kitty Hawk Midi Flight Path is not only a simple unit to use but its designed for ease-of-access and brilliant visual confirmation. Composed in a road defiant 14guage steel chassis, the Midi Flight Path supports 100 presets in banks of 10. Program switches are arranged on the inclining front panel from 0 to 9 with a Bank up and Bank down switch. Designed mainly for live performance, the Midi Flight Path furnishes two 7 segment L.E.D. displays, 2 3/8" wide by 3 1/2" high . Its a landmark for those big stages and leaves no doubt what preset is current! Preset changes are accessed by selecting the desired Bank and corresponding last digit. An example would be to change from preset 1 to preset 10: Step on the "Bank Up" switch until the number 1 flashes in the left display, then step on the switch marked "0" (bottom left corner). Preset display will cease to flash and the active Preset is now assigned to Preset 10. Thats all there is to it! If your next preset change is for example preset 66, you can always walk up the Bank switch to Bank 6 and then select footswitch 6 at the precise moment of song timing change. Please note, preset will not change until display stops flashing. The Midi Flight Path is a down-and-dirty device that only broadcasts Preset changes on any Midi User selected Channel. For convenience each unit is supplied with a XLR to Midi 5pin DIN connector. The reason we selected the output connector to be XLR is that cable lengths can be adjusted easily with a standard microphone cable to a maximum of 50ft. No fuss no muss, its plug and play! Enjoy the gig without the worry of what mode youre in, or the accumulated wrinkles from squinting to see what preset you on! Note: Extensive Multi-Effects and Processor users may want to explore the benefits of a Kitty Hawk Midi Looper. One or more devices connected to your amplifier Input or Effect Loop can seriously degrade audio quality. The use of a Kitty Hawk Looper will enable you to engage and disengage devices in signal path, function as a silent tuner, mute switch and much more! |
