The Stage 2004 is a next of kin unit to the Stage 2003, with just that added feature. A four channel Pre-amp with a Clean, Crunch, Overdrive and a Hot Overdrive channel. This unit entertains an Overdrive Master for solo balancing levels within the mix of the music, or a Hot Overdrive Master for melodies to sing out high above the band.

The Kitty Hawk Stage 2004 is an all Tube Pre-amp guaranteed to deliver a variety of authentic guitar sounds. This 12AX7A tubed, single-space, rack mountable unit contains seven gain stages, two sets of Tone controls, three Master Volumes, overall Output Level control and a Studio Output. The Stage 2004 Pre-amp is ready to command respect for its articulate clarity, definition and infinite sustain. The front panel controls make this unit easy and accessible to operate with a visual confirmation at all times.

The first set of Tonal adjustments is a shared Treble, Middle and Bass control for the Clean and Crunch sections. Subtle or firm command of these controls can produce a wide variety of sounds from sparkling glass like highs, to rich full-bodied lows with the twist of a knob. The Clean Volume delivers a wide range of unclippable signal level while the Crunch Volume can pack as much crunch needed for punchy rhythm’s or that total "Over The Edge Sound".

The Lead sections provide the wings to soar above the Crowds with an endless supply of Overdrive sustain power, 2 Master Volumes, a 3 tone control EQ section (common to both Overdrive and Hot Overdrive Master Volumes) and an additional Bright control to accentuate the upper audio limits. Finally you can preset 2 independent Overdrive Master Volume levels at the push of a switch. Especially handy when soloing beside vocal tracks, the overdrive will enable you to mix in harmony. Then when the spot light beckons for a soaring, vibrant melody, the Hot Overdrive Master Volume control will deliver you to a level high above the clouds. For whatever style of playing, this section will satisfy the most demanding soloist.

When taste and textures are in unison, the Kitty Hawk 2004 Output will produce a wide range of volumes with its easy-of-access Output Level control located on the front panel. For a straight to mixer feed, try the studio output jack located on the rear panel. The Studio Output control is equipped with a low-pass filter Level control for that "Sounds So Real" speaker simulation. For recording, this unit is "Plug And Play" ready!
