Maybe you’re wondering what makes this amplifier so special ?

Well, we’ve taken out the unnecessary electronics, such as redundant gain stages, tone control sections, over-designed circuit protection to produce a precision attack power source. Clean ,raw power with only a presence and volume control is our philosophy. That’s what makes the 2x50 and 2x100 Power Amplifier so unique!

The 2x50 and 2x100’s are solid built 2 channel Power Amplifiers compatible with any line level out device requiring amplification and completely worthy of life on the road. A mate for any pre-amplifier such as our Stage 2003 or Stage 2004 with the ability to reproduce input signals without loss of dynamics, unwanted compression, or added color.

Every Power amplifier is fitted with a "Road-Dog" 14 gauge steel chassis, precision balanced hand-wound transformers, high spec. 12AX7 pre-amplifier tubes, matched-pair EL34 output power tubes and a guarantee to put any solid-state amplifier to shame! Only precision audio grade components and hand soldered assembly are permitted in the creation of the Kitty Hawk Power Amplifier.

The 2x50 can be driven as a mono 2 channel or stereo amplifier. The 2x100 can be configured in the same fashion but for a little extra, exchange the EL34’s with 6550’s, select the 6550 Bias Switch setting and double your output power! Input patching has been made easy with front and rear panel jacks. Speaker impedance selections are offered on the rear panel with 4, 8 and 16 ohm taps to accommodate a wide variety of loudspeaker and wiring configurations.

With safety in mind, input AC is fuse protected and a Mains Fuse protection (between tubes and output transformer) has been added to the rear panel. Both channels are fused independently allowing continued usage should a problem arise on the opposing channel (such as a broken tube).

These amplifiers have been designed for the most discriminating and sensitive ear. If you’re a guitar player challenging the audio spectrum, a keyboard player looking for subtle and earth-moving response from your mixer output, do yourself a favor and fly the Hawk!

Note:

For adaptation to a midi systems, we suggest incorporating a Kitty Hawk or Midi Looper to your setup for additional control, vintage pedals, effects, amplifier channel selectors, remote functions, etc.

One or more devices connected to your amplifier Input or Effect Loop can seriously degrade audio quality. The use of a Kitty Hawk Looper will enable you to engage and disengage devices in signal path, function as a silent tuner, mute switch and much more!
